Story from Steve Petz.
John had an exceptional aptitude for all things mechanical and driving. I remember him tuning cars—timing and carburetor – with touch, hearing, and simple tools.
He should have lived in Kentucky. He would have been a “ Moonshiner Extraordinaire”. He would have started out as a Moonshine Runner. He would have been a founding member of NASCAR — the ultimate sports car racing enterprise.
John was a driver. Many will remember high speeds, flying gravel, and maybe even a change in underwear. He would always have things under control, but made it exciting for those fortunate enough to ride with him.
He had a son that fell very close to the tree.
